Since 1966, Mentor-on-the-Lake has been governed as a charter city, operating under a Strong Mayor form of government. The Mayor serves as the city’s Chief Executive Officer and Safety Director. The Mayor is responsible for seeing that all laws, resolutions and ordinances of the city and state are enforced.
Mayor’s Biography
Mayor Dave Eva has lived in Mentor on the Lake for over 40 years. He is a 1978 Mentor High School graduate and a 1982 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, majoring in accounting. Mayor Eva lives on Sequoia Court.
Dave was appointed the city’s 20th Mayor in December 2012. He was elected Mayor in 2013, re-elected in 2015, 2019, and 2023. Mayor Eva’s term runs through 2027.
